Totally Responsible Person

Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 - 12:32 p.m.

i am taking my lunch break now. it's gonna be a pretty quick one. i am in a TRP seminar today. that stands for Totally Responsible Person. it's talking about taking charge of what you do and not being a victim. it boils down to you having a chose of how you feel. let's say someone someone yells at you. before you do anything, there is a moment of choice. you can choose to react and yell baack at them, or you can choose to take the TRP approach and produce a calm response. you are responsible for your emotional state, not someone else.

i think it's a pretty good seminar...but(yeah, you knew there was a but coming) i practice this everyday. i'll go ahead and tell you, some of the things i say and do, i didn't know i was acting like the victim. it was amazing. it's really helpful to the other people in the class b/c they are customer service people. now, i work in Systems and Operation Startegies, or SOS. we are grouped in w/ customer svc. b/c our senior v.p. is over them, but we are not really apart of customer svc. we're still a part of finance. i'm still a financial specialist, you know. these people are talking about agents and customers...you know who my clients are? the same people i am in the class w/. it's just funny to me.

well, that's all i have been doing today. nothing else. just getting my stuff together for the thanksgiving thing i'm having on sunday. i have to call today and order the ham and turkey. i am not cooking anything for this gathering. everyone else is going to have to bring food. i cannot do it all by myself. if that's the case, then i'll save it all for my parents on thanksgiving. well, i've got to get back to the rest of the seminar. until later....
