the ham party

2001-11-15 - 12:23 p.m.

i finally figured out what to get cheryl for her birthday. there is the dvd set that she wants at cosmic castle and i will get that. how did i figure that out? the guy that works at the place called and left a message on the answering machine last night telling her it came in. i always get her anime or music because i know what she likes. she just gets me music because that is such an easy thing to get for me. i am such an open person. with music taste that range from dmx to lynyrd skynyrd how can i not be open. so tonight i order the cake and get the gift. i can even wrap it in the new wrapping paper i bought. i love it. i expect to spend around $70.00 on the gift and cake alone. she better love both, i am telling you.

i saw cheryl's friend julie last night. they went out to dinner. julie asked me if i wanted to come and i said no. why? i hate thai food. that and julie doens't really talk around me. she giggles and that annoys me. i need someone to talk back to me, you know.

last night i cut the ham that i made. who know that ham was gonna be so big. drew called me and said he was on his way. i should have remembered he was coming. he was so excited because i told him he could bring his knives to help me cut. he was talking about spending over $100.00 on these knives (there are only two) and never getting an opportunity to use them. i told him to cut the ham. i had an entire platter full of sliced ham. tell me why drew gets up there and starts cutting hunks of ham off the bone. never let a man do something a woman does far better, i will tell you that much. chip was there too, by way. he is funny. we got to 'elevate our minds' because of him. i do not understand him, though. how is it when he has a job, he is always broke and never has anything, but when he ain't got no job, he is always going places and always has kb? that was fine with me, though. as long as they can support their own habbit i am cool with it. so anyway, tell me why mr. i don't eat pork, ate more ham than anyone else? i am so serious, it's crazy. he kept coming back in there and eating it. i just started laughing at him and he had no idea why.

then we have erin who comes by. i can't say unexpectedly because she did call and tell cheryl she was bringing her gift over. i just forgot she was coming. you know, lose of short term memory and all. anyway, she get there not too long after buffy goes off. it was awesome, buffy was. so i offer erin some ham, i needed to get rid of it, don't want it to spoil or anything. i even called ricky and jody, who never even called me back ,the bastards. then drew calls d and tells him to come over because we are having a ham party. i think that just might have been one of the funniest things i have ever heard of before in my life. it fit right in with what we later watched...the bernie mac show. now i am telling you, he had me laughing so hard. i love the kings of comedy, so i knew this was gonna be the bomb. if you don't know, bernie mac's is a typical black parent, or at least he sounds like one from back in the day. oh my god, when he told that 13 year old sassy mouth child that he was gonna beat her like he was her daddy, i cracked up. but when she said something to him and locked herself in the bathroom and he told her he was gonna beat her til the white meat in her head showed, i literally fell off the couch laughing. everyone did. then i explained to drew that growing up, back in the day, in a black household, they were vivid with their threats. it's true, they were. and even though they would never really do it, you always thought they would follow through with it. that is called putting the fear of God into the child. most kids these days don't know about that, but the ones i have to deal with on a regular basis do. oh, it's too funny, that show. i think everyone should watch it. it comes on fox, i think. whatever channel malcolm in the middle comes on, on wednesday at 8:30p.m. you will understand what i am talking about.

so the ham party ended around 10:00p.m. then i watched south park and laughed myself silly again. i just laughed all night long. i have just been having the bestest time, you know. and i know how to do it all by myself. yea!

so tonight, after we order the cake and get the gift from the geek shop, i get to go to nyp to get some food, and pay for jody. then i have to make sure i invite cute boy mike and leo to the party...and chuck, but chuck gotta bring his own beer, like everyone else does, but he really does. he drinks too damn much for my taste, then don't know what'g going on. ohhh, i can invite dylan too. chip thinks he's a hottie, but he is straight. he is cool, though. i have to tell my neighbors, as well. this is not gonna be so bad.

damn, i want something sweet now. ice cream? no, then i would have to get money out of the teller. candy machine? tempting, but it would only last a hot minute.....what to do, what to do.

i must vent about kamilah again. she is getting on my royal nerves. i told her i was tired of hearing about darnell, yet she still insists on hanging around him and crying when he yells at her. i was like girl, you saw this coming. how you gonna tell me what to do with ron, then you go and do the exact opposite of what you say? i told her she needs to take it step by step, but you can't keep going back. then she acts like she don't want to hear me. that's fine, i am not going to put up with her whining though. that's why she doesn't call me as much. she only wants to talk about darnell and i could care less about it. she is trying to make him jealous, but she is only causing trouble. get rid of him and be done with it. the only thing she would have to deal with is her own emotions. it's the same thing as with kofi. i even asked her did she feel as if she had to have a man in her life all the time and she said no. i told her she is contridicting herself...then she had to go because darnell called. this is crazy because the tarot cards said something about kamilah and myself, but i am going to have to lay it on the line for her. i know she considers me her best friend and i will always be ther for her, but she has to learn if you keep doing what you know is wrong, it will come to know good. my god, if i a kid touches something hot, they know to leave it alone and not to bother it anymore. same concept, but she ain't getting it. oh well, she will have to deal with it sooner than later.

i think i am gonna get some money so i can get some ice cream. i be needing it!
