gainshare results/no extra baggage

today was our team finance quarterly meeting. this meeting tells us all about the money and what happened in the 4th quarter. this is only for people in finance, treasury, actuarial, and investment accounting, oh and payroll. the people that deal with the money. it was boring...as usual. but we found out about our gain share. it coincides with our 401-k. after you have been with the company for a year, you are elibigle to be in this the next available quarter. well, all of 2001 applies to me. there are different things that go into a certain department's gain share, effective measurements being the big kicker. well, our effective measurement was 3.97% out of a total 4.0%. not too shabby. out total gainshare was 2.21% for our team, strategies, operations and systems, or s.o.s. we got one of the highest percentages in the company, go us! hopefully, we get our check tomorrow. see, it 2.21% of your salary. half of it goes to stock and the company matches it. the other half you get a check for, and i need it. now let's talk about last night. i am about to get i bed and my phone rings. guess who it is? you guessed it, ron. why is he calling me? i have no idea, especially b/c it was 11:37p.m. everyone knows no calls on the week night after 11:00p.m. unless there is an emergency. i know what he wanted. a booty call, but i am not down with that. no sir. we agreed on friendship and that is what i am sticking to. he also needs a good lesson in frienship. it's a give and take thing and he ain't giving. i usually don't have to spell it out to my friends, but i see for him i will have to. i will take nothing for granted as far as he is concerned, but he is going to have to realize that he can't take me for granted, which is what he does. he is going to have to be about something b/c i don't need no extra baggage in my life, especially when it's about nothing. i think i will call him now. |
